Oops.

So, you'll have to excuse the blog for looking like crap at the moment, and containing a ton of buttons that don't work. I took the liberty of 'improving' the design however it's still in the transitional stage as I had to go out to celebrate my sisters birthday.
So, yeah, sorry if the ugliness fries your eyeballs. :/

We make plans to kiss the sun at night

Hey guys, its Cassie here
I don't want to confuse everyone by thinking that it is Jess posting because she uses song lyrics for the title and most of the time I probably wont use them, but I thought they were needed today.

So my theme for photos today, is not recent photos I've taken, cause believe me if it was I would have nothing to post, for now I thought I would just post some of my work so that you could get a feel for what my photography style is, not that I really have one. Back to my theme, sunsets/sunrises, and a night photo, just to mix it up.

So this first photo was taken one early winter morning, while I was with Jess. For a while I considered this my best photo, and it probably still is to this day. The reason I love this photo so much is because I thought I was a horrible photographer and that I should just stop studying photography, until I took this photo and it gave me hope. Hope that I could take more photos just like this one.

I guess just like Jess, I tend to over edit photos some times, very rarely though. This photo here is not too much edited, just a little though. I like this photo though because it amuses me that multiple people enjoy hanging their shoes off power lines. My only question though is how the hell did they get their shoes up there in the first place?

This photo was the first ever sunset photo I took. I'm actually so proud of this photo because it was taken on my first little kodak camera, which as we all know, is nothing special. One of the reasons why I love this photo is because my grandparents used to travel all around australia and then they even started going overseas too, and at the time of this photo my grandma was actually sick in hospital, so this photo just reminds me of them so much and the trips they used to go on together.

Obviously this is the night photo. For one of my projects at school we got to pick any genre we wanted and to take as many photos as we wanted. So I went for night photography. To be honest I'm not 100% sure why, but I think it might have something to do with the fact that the world at night is just as beautiful, maybe even more beautilful then it is at day. This out of all my night photos is probably my favourite because the lights just look so awesome. I don't know how I managed it but the lights appear to be different colours, which I can assure you they were not.

So I realise that I've given you much more to read then Jess did, but I'm like that, I tend to write too much. Hopefully you will continue to read our blog, but if our style is not what you're into we completely understand because we do know that we are a little strange, but really when you think about it who isn't?

Painting our faces, and dressing in thoughts from the skies.

It's Jess here, you can tell by the fact that I used song lyrics for the title of the post. Note that fun fact for future reference.

I just thought I'd post a few photos that I've taken recently so you can get a taste of what they're like and such, but in the future I will try to post photos such as these on the day they're taken, to give the whole blog a sense of continuity, if you will.

This first photo is not one that I would consider to be a particularly good photo in and of itself, but it shows a ridiculous sky, which is something that can always make me whip my camera out, no matter how inconvenient the timing is.

I guess the point of this photo is to show that I get addicted to editing sometimes. Not really a good trait, I know, but I'm trying to detox currently. The day this photo was taken was overcast, with boring, flat clouds that made everything look dull. Or maybe that was just me rushing to get home when I realised my 'short venture up the street' was extending towards the two hour mark.

This photo, like the first, is minimally edited and quite a lucky shot, but I love it nonetheless. The day this was taken, Cassie and myself braved the cold of an early winter morning and jumped on our bikes, heading for Lake Tuggeranong in time to catch the sunrise. The gods of landscape photos were kind to us, and we managed to get some spectacular exposures, far more so than I expected. Excuse the low quality of this one, this is a download from facebook that's been re-uploaded here, because the original is on my extrenal hard drive, which is currently inaccessible.

This photo is included because I couldn't post a collection of photos without including one crazy looking one taken in my backyard. There's really no other story behind it than that, sorry to disappoint.
The only editing inflicted on this photo was a basic conversion to black and white.

Hopefully these photos have given you a taste of what might be in store if you bother reading this blog, or at least confirmed your suspicions that they're not all that great so you can return to your lives without fretting about checking back here. ;)

It's a god-awful small affair.

I guess it's best to start off by introducing ourselves a little.
Seeing as we're not sure what to write about ourselves, we're both writing each others, starting with Cassie's introduction, written by Jess.

Cassie is the smart one, who studied photography in year 9 & 10, so she has the expertise that I lack in that department. The bulk of her photos consist of fab landscape related pictures, often with atmospheric lighting such as sunsets and the like.

Jess underestimates herself too often, her photographs are just as good, if not better then mine and she hasn't even studied photography. Majority of her photos are taken within the regions of her household, with the help of her assistant and best friend, Miss Caitlin Grange.

And keep your eyes peeled for photo updates coming shortly.
